Day 11 – Wealthy Affiliates University

Following the ‘destruction’ of my blog, I have taken the plunge to join Wealthy Affiliate University. Need to start somewhere and was considering between Chris Farrell membership site, Stone Evan’s Plug In Profit Site, and the Wealthy Affiliate University. As I strongly believe in starting my success as an affiliate, I’ve decided to go for WA.

First lesson was pretty basic. Introduces what is Internet Marketing. What interests me is the Wealthy Affiliate Step-By-Step Action Plan that allows me to follow its systematic approach to Affiliate Marketing. What’s more, in order for its members to fully understand what they learn instead of skipping all over the place, they have a ‘timing’ system to make sure that you stay focused on the lesson before moving on to the next.

I have also seen many success stories inside Wealthy Affiliate University. And I am sure I can be one of them, as long as I follow the plan and take action.

I am also taking up Photoshop lessons so that I can do my own web graphics. Have attended 2 lessons so far and I think I am in love with Photoshop. Ha ha…

Anyway, I have up to end of this year to succeed in Internet Marketing so there is not much time left. Really putting in my best to stay focused and achieve results.

Long time no update

It’s been a while since I updated this blog. I’ve been busy with another site that focuses on sharing information about how to make money on the Internet. Been learning quite a fair bit these few weeks and I hope that what I learned can be put into good use.

Meanwhile, there are some challenges that I face in my Internet Marketing journey. The great thing about them are they let me learn and allows me to stay focused, very focused. Strategies were implemented, and changed. In fact, they are continuously changing.

I know I will see results soon…

Internet Marketing – My Updates

Recently I saw an update on facebook by one of my contacts. He has spent 4 hours to create his opt-in page, web form and autoresponder messages. I am ashamed that I am not as committed as him although I understand fully what I have to do for my internet marketing strategy.

Nevertheless, I have begun my first strategy for affiliate marketing. I hope that very soon, I can see results from it. And I know that this is a testing phase for me and results are not guaranteed. Still, if I do not take action, and maybe fail from it, I will never know if it can work. If it does, it will certainly motivate me to move on. And if it doesn’t, I know that I have to change my strategy.

Wish me luck!

SMART seminar – Day Two

Attended Day Two of the SMART seminar on Saturday.

Basically, I was looking forward to speaker Mr. Fabian Lim’s presentation because he is a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert in Singapore.

And he truly delivered value in his speech because to me, he was brutally honest. His presentation did not sound like a sales speech to me and I was impressed by his honesty about making money online.

I did not attend Day Three as I have other commitments and I have obtained enough information from the seminar to continue my internet marketing journey.

Home Business Blog

I chanced upon this site workfromhomecourse.blogspot.com and I must say it provides some useful tips and insights about internet marketing.

Although I may not have the time to read the entire blog, I am going to find time to do it and to learn all I can and to put them to good use.

The reason I post it here is to share useful information from this blog so that it can benefit you.

Secrets of Self-Made Internet Millionaires

Finally finished the book Secrets of Self-Made Internet Millionaires by Stuart Tan.

Secrets of Internet Millionaires

Took me a while to pick up this book again. My wife bought this book for me about a year back and after going through a couple of chapters, I left it on the shelf before I picked it up again last week.

Why did I stop reading? Well, it’s not that the book is not good. In fact, the Secrets of Self-Made Internet Millionaires is packed with a lot of information for any internet marketer, regardless of whether you are new or experienced.

Maybe that was the reason I stopped. You see, I bought the book when I was just beginning to take an interest in internet marketing. Being the way I was (before attending POE), after reading a few chapters, I told myself that the internet marketing world has too many things to concentrate on. There’s simply too much information!

So I procrastinated, and procrastinated, and thoughts of failure started flowing into my mind. “I don’t have the time”, “There’s too much to learn”, “I won’t be able to cope”, “I still have a job”.

In the end, I gave up. I put the book back on the shelf and just left it there.

Nevertheless, I believe I’m back on track after attending Patterns of Excellence and so I picked up the book and continued from where I left off.

And I am so glad I completed it. Still a newbie to internet marketing (I did not take any action due to procrastination), I have now gained much from reading the book. It is true that there is still a lot for me to learn and I know it’s going to take a lot of hard work. The good thing is, I have now returned stronger and am willing to take action.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone starting out to be an internet marketer. Even though the book is published in 2007, there is still a lot of information that is used today. You cannot find this book at Amazon though.

My Journey in Internet Marketing

I would say that as a newbie, it’s been pretty tough getting a headstart. I am suddenly exposed to a lot of things on the internet that I’ve not been exposed to before. I have a website, a blog for my daughter and now this blog but when it comes to making money from the internet, it’s not really that easy.

Here I am being introduced to things like adsense, affiliate marketing, CPA, search engine optimization, adwords, membership, copywriting, squeeze page, generating leads, FrontPage, Dreamweaver and so much more it is simply too overwhelming.

Getting traffic is sooooo difficult.

For the past weeks, I have been sleeping between 2-3am and waking up at 7-8am (sometimes late) for my day job. It’s getting really tiring. What pushes me on is really what I learned from Patterns of Excellence. Without that, I’d have given up long ago.

With this, I am still going to continue my journey in internet marketing even though I know it is going to be tough. I know that if I am focused on my goals, I will be successful one day.

PPC Classroom Singapore – Completed

Have been busy attending the PPC Classroom (Singapore) from 14th – 16th August 2009.

There were a number of speakers sharing their success stories and at the same time, selling their training packages or softwares.

Some of the internet marketing experts include Dr. Mike Woo-Min, Ewen Chia, Simon Leung, Andy Huang David Dinucci, and Nikhil Parekh.

They share valuable experience and tips with the audience especially for someone new to internet marketing. However, some of the more experienced internet marketers begin to view the presentations as sales tactics as at the end of the presentation, they also share their coaching program or software.

Honestly, I too was having second doubts about going back on the last day. But I thought about it and asked myself if I cannot even commit to finish the three days, then what success am I talking about? So in the end, I went down and was glad as I picked up a few more tips on internet marketing. Maybe they’re not important to the experienced but to someone like me, I’ve indeed learned a fair bit from this workshop.
