Nu Skin 2011 Global Convention

31st October 2011

t’s 6.30am in the morning and I am on my way to Grand Canyon. Everyone’s sleeping now. Most of us are tired. All of us resting so that we can recharge and continue our journey.

For the past week, we have travelled from Singapore to Taiwan, from Taiwan to Los Angeles, from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City in Utah, then to Las Vegas, and now we’re on our way to Grand Canyon before making our way home. It has been an absolutely rewarding journey for all of us.

The Nu Skin 2011 Global Convention held at Salt Lake City once every two years is an opportunity for all distributors to learn more about the company, as well as to enhance our belief that this business is the best business model. This is my first time attending this convention since my wife and I joined Nu Skin a year ago.

I was undecided before. Undecided if my wife and I should come for the convention. Partly because we have to leave our precious daughter behind, and mostly because it will be a hefty sum for us to pay to come here. But we chose to believe our leader Gavin when he encouraged us and told us that this is a must attend event for all distributors who are serious about this business..

And so we came… And it was an absolutely wise decision we have made.

Apart from the fun times we had at Taiwan and Las Vegas, and the crazy shopping at Desert Hills premium outlets, the convention was the main reason that this is a ‘no regret’ trip to the USA.

Right from the very first day, we joined thousands of Nu Skin distributors for the corporate tour, where we were given the opportunity to tour around the corporate building, including the new research centre that is going to be built. What is interesting is the company had arranged for us to write our names on stones which will be used as part of the foundation of building this new research centre. From here, we can see that the company really values us and wants us to be part of it, not just working for it.

The corporate building tour was an amazing tour too. We had the chance to visit most levels of the corporate building and even had the opportunity to visit the top managements’ offices, including Chairman Blake Roney, CEO Truman Hunt, Steve Lund and many more. We stood physically in their offices and it is amazing how much trust they have for their distributors as pointed out by one of my teammates, anyone could have easily removed their personal items from the offices should they wish to, but it is because of the Force For Good culture that the company has instilled, they trusted us one hundred percent. Also, in my past thirteen years of working with my previous company, I have not even seen my CEO’s office door. Here, we were pampered to have a tour right in their offices. Awesome!

Anyway, the convention offered so much more as I can now understand more about our founders and their mission to help people. I can now relate so much better to their vision of making this company a global phenomenon. I can understand why in years to come, Nu Skin will be the biggest direct selling company in the world, and I truly believe that it can be achieved.

I am also proud that our system leader, Ms. Angela Liew had been specially chosen to speak to thirteen thousand audiences at the convention. This only goes to show that our team leaders are recognized by Nu Skin as one of the most significant contributors to its success and I am so glad that I am working with the right company, with the right team, and with the right leaders.

As we continue our travel to Grand Canyon, and back to Singapore, I have already made up my mind. My wife and I, will put our hearts and our minds to make our Nu Skin business a huge success.
