National Achievers Congress 2015 Singapore

National Achievers Congress 2015

I have just attended the National Achievers Congress 2015 Singapore organised by Success Resources last weekend. This year’s keynote speaker is Chris Gardner, author of the book The Pursuit of Happyness. Along with him are many well known speakers (Jay Abraham, Joel Comm, Michelle Mone, JT Foxx, Peng Joon, Sean Seah etc) that put together their amazing transformation stories and courses to help people change.

Here are some of my thoughts about this years’ NAC.

This is the first NAC for probably some of the speakers but I am very impressed with their sincerity to share their story. This is my second time attending NAC and people do ask me why do I like to attend such events. My answer is simple: I like to learn from successful people around the world what leads to their success. At the same time, although I am primarily involved in Network Marketing, I would still like to know and understand how the rest of the world are making money. I am exceptionally impressed with two of the speakers – Koji Ikematsu from Japan and Michelle Mone OBE from the UK, especially Michelle. Founder of a successful designer lingerie brand Ultimo,  her story was very inspiring as she shared her challenges and what stood out was given her success, she did not have to come all the way to Singapore to ‘teach’ ordinary people like us. Her stage presence was of a humble lady who was willing to give her best to the audience. Same goes for Koji-san. I could feel his vibrations as he shared his story from rags to riches. Every one of the speakers is successful in their own way, although I will say I have the feeling some of them grow their business by expanding their network through seminars like this.

Nevertheless, there are always different people with different opinions about such seminars. I remember a year ago when I attended NAC, my impression was that the speakers were here to sell stuff. To me, their objective was to sell their courses and their coaching for the money. This time round I get a different feeling. I can feel that although there is commercial value in the seminar, I can also feel that some of the speakers genuinely want to transfer their knowledge to help people who are hungry for success. Of course, it is up to the participants to feel their sincerity and to decide if they are worth the investments, both time and money.

Anyway, I came to this NAC for Peng Joon’s Internet Income Intensive seminar. Last year, I saw him present at NAC and while I was tempted to sign up for his course, I hesitated. Because I was fearful it may not work for me. I have tried for many years to make money online but failed. I have visited forums, bought ebooks and programs, subscribed to membership sites but all to no avail. Can it be my actions are heading in the wrong direction? Or perhaps I am not meant to be successful in this field? These were the questions and doubts that ran through my mind. Honestly though, I do not expect to earn a lot of money from the Internet but it is a passion for me to prove to myself that it can be done. So I am not giving up and I believe that with a good mentor, I will be able to make my sale online. Hence, I signed up for Peng Joon’s Internet Income Intensive seminar and I will be attending in August. I will probably do a review of his program when completed and also share any good news after I implement what I learn. Here’s a photo with him. I do admire him because he is young, successful and smart.

To sum up the post, I am glad I attended the National Achievers Congress 2015 Singapore. There were many lessons shared and learned in these three days. Things about businesses, lessons about life, mindsets about success etc.

Here are some of the lessons I learned:

  1. Learning requires energy
  2. Setting goals is not about doing what’s right or wrong. It is just something that excites you to jump up from your bed.
  3. Have a bucket list
  4. You must believe that there is a plan and purpose for your life
  5. Invest in yourself by continuous learning
  6. You can never go wrong by showing up
  7. In business you have to do what makes you money. In passive income you have to do what makes you happy
  8. Pain is temporary but if you quit it lasts forever
  9. Like me, Know me, Trust me, Pay me
  10. You never know until you try
  11. If I do what they do, I will get what they get
  12. You can’t change something until you own it
  13. No self-made millionaire has a story about why they can’t earn a million dollars
  14. Plan B sucks!

For some of these lessons to make sense, I guess you have to be there at NAC.

At the end of the day, after learning what we learnt, what we really need is action. Once we decided what we want in life, the only way to succeed is to take continuous action towards our goals. So the first thing I want to get completed now is my bucket list. Share soon…

Meanwhile, do watch Chris Gardner introduction video for a glimpse of his success mindsets.
