Lesson from my lunch

My colleagues drove out for lunch today. We stopped at a carpark and started walking down a lane to Boon Tong Kee restaurant, supposedly famous for its chicken rice. As this is my first time going to this restaurant, I somehow find the restaurant located a little too far from the car park where my colleague parked her car. Nevertheless, we continued our walk until we finally reached the restaurant.

We had a good lunch there and when we were done, we walked back to the car park. What I had observed was the way back seems to be faster than when we were finding the restaurant earlier.

The reason is clear. The perception of heading to a destination without knowing exactly where it is, and heading to a destination where you already walked pass earlier, is totally different. For the former, there was a sense of excitement, anticipation and also, worry (that we may be heading the wrong way). The latter, was a feeling of security, a ‘been there, done that’ feeling.

Why I am sharing this is I am relating it to my internet marketing journey. I believe there are many successful internet marketers out there who had once started from scratch without having a clue to where they are headed. And like me, I believe that they will experience the journey with excitement, anticipation, and fear. Excited about the possibilities with this business, and yet fearful that it may all be just a big dream.

For now, I am continuing this journey without a clear sense of direction. Is it because I did not plan enough? Or that it is too overwhelming for me? I am not sure. What I am sure is I will continue to find the strategy that suits me and to focus on that until I succeed.
