Everything That Happened To You Happened For You

everything that happened to you

I just accidentally deleted a very important note on my notepad. This notepad has many of my ideas and lessons I learned in the past months and while attempting to delete another note from my notepad, I deleted this important one instead.

In the past, I would have freaked out. I would have panicked and frantically tried to find ways to recover the deleted notes. Well, this time, I did try to find a way to recover but unfortunately I was not able to do so.

Anyway, I managed to keep my calm this time because I now know this…

Everything That Happened To You Happened For You.

What happened to me is now in the past tense. I can no longer change it. For me, the more important thing is to ask myself what can I learn from it.

What happened to me happened to teach me an important and valuable lesson – to be more careful when executing tasks, and to look into details before execution.

This accident is just one of the incidents that happen in our lives. In our journey, many things will happen along the way. Good things, not so good things, and pretty unfavourable things. When you have the mindset that everything happened to you happened for you, you will start to see things in a different, more positive way.

I did.

everything that happened to you

People tend to ask themselves why are they living the life they are currently living. Financially, the poor may ask themselves why aren’t they rich. The rich may ask themselves why they are rich but not happy. There is another popular saying, “Everything happened for a reason, and the reason is to serve me.”

However, not many people realise that all things happened for a good reason – and that good reason is to let us grow. When you realise that even in an adversity, things happened to you because it is meant to happen for you, and you embrace the incidents that happened, you will grow to be a stronger and better person.

In the past, whenever I am faced challenges or obstacles, I always find myself complaining about it. Why did this have to happen? Why did I have to deal with such people? I don’t have time for this, I don’t have time for that. Why can’t I have more time to do the things I want? Why can’t I have more money?

Everything That Happened To You Happened For You.

In this case, everything that happened to me happened for me. I now know that what I am facing is a result of my past thoughts, my past behaviours, and my past actions, and to ensure that the same thing do not happen to me again, I have to change the way I do things, and the way I think about things, not just whine about it. Whining does not help the situation a single bit.

This new perspective changed my life, as I now embrace all challenges in life and focus on the outcome I want instead of complaining.

And if you are reading this, I would like you to ask yourself what are the unhappy things that happened to you recently, perhaps even today? More importantly, how did you respond to it?

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” – Charles R. Swindoll

What an awesome quote! Remember, everything that happened to you happened for you, and you can give your own meaning to that ‘for you’.

Have a great day ahead!
