This post is dedicated to my teachers, my mentors, and all who have made an influence in my life.

This first persons whom I consider as my teacher(s) are actually my parents. They have brought me up and taught me well on the way of life. Though there are times where opinions differ as I grow, I do owe my life to them. Without their guidance throughout these years, I may have already been astray many times. To me, you are my first teachers, my grandmasters. Happy Teacher’s Day!

Next, I would like to thank my educational teachers. These are dedicated individuals who have contributed their lives to educating and preparing thousands of people, giving them the necessary skills and knowledge to grow up in their lives. They include my kindergarten teachers, my primary school teachers, secondary school, polytechnic and university teachers. They also include all trainers who have at any one time trained or guided me. I owe my deepest gratitude to these people who have in one way or another shaped me into who I am today. Happy Teacher’s Day!

I would like to specifically thank one person in my life – my wife, Amily. To me, she is also my teacher, my mentor. My wife has worked hard over the few years in educating me, specifically to be a better husband, a better dad, a better person. At many times when I did not do right, she did not give up on me. Instead, she continuously find new opportunities for the both of us and did not stop believing in us. With a grateful heart, I wish you Happy Teacher’s Day!

I also want to thank some special people that have a special place in my heart. Though I may not be acquainted with some of them, they hold a special place because through them, I have learned a great deal, and am still learning. These mentors have begun to shape my life into a better one each and every day. They are my inspiration and I hope to be able to follow their footsteps. They include: Adam Khoo, Stuart Tan, Lilian Ong, Rayne Ho, Dennis Ng, Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill and many more. You have taught me that everything is possible as long as you put your heart and soul into it. Happy Teacher’s Day!

I want to thank my friends for being my teachers too. They have taught me to see for myself what values I should have and what habits I should let go. I have learned to choose my friends wisely too, as I will become who I befriend. To all of my friends, Happy Teacher’s Day!

Lastly, I want to thank my daughter Jade. Even though I am your dad, I have learned numerous lessons from you, a mere a four year old girl. I have learned how to be a become a better dad, and what it means to be a better person to you. You have taught me to be mindful of my bad habits, and you have taught me the value of patience and love. Thank you darling for being a great teacher to me. Happy Teacher’s Day!

Teacher’s Day is a day where we thank our teachers and mentors for their unconditional sacrifice to make us a better person. Some may have spent their entire lives as a teacher. Some may have simply taught you a lesson or two, Regardless, I believe that teachers exist for one purpose – to educate people to be a better person, academically or personally. Therefore, today is the day where we show our appreciation to them. I believe all of us have our teachers. Today, tell them how much you appreciate them. Send them a gift, write them a card, or just a simple ‘Thank you’ will suffice.

With this, I wish all of you a HAPPY TEACHER’S DAY!

About a year ago, I did my first dream board as I attended Patterns Of Excellence with my wife. Back then, although I was excited about it, I kind of did it as an ‘assignment’.

Today, a year later, I want to do another Dream Board. The difference is this dream board is really going to be what I will be dreaming of achieving in me and my family’s future. No this post is not about my dream board. This post is about something else, something that I happened to find while sourcing images for my dream board, and it touched my heart deeply and so I feel the need to share.

As I was searching for images, I typed in ‘my dream’ in google image search and the first result caught my attention. This is the picture I saw…

toothpastefordinner.com

Anyway, my interpretation of this picture is that this person has been so negatively affected by people that he is beginning to hate his life to the extent that he is looking for people with similar emotions. In this comic, his dream has come true. But is this the kind of dream that we should all have? When we came to this world, we were innocent. In fact, before that, we were winners. We have fought off millions of others to secure the chance to be born. However, as we arrive into this world and grow up, some of us have allowed ourselves to be negatively influenced by others until we see ourselves as losers. Some, have even developed hatred for their lives as they do not see positive things happen around them.

I was there. I was lost. I did not have any dream because to me, it was futile to even dream. I only had bad dreams. Like the man in the picture, I only could dream of how my life would suffer when I grow old. I only dreamed that with my present situation, it can only get worse when I grow old. I am glad I woke up from such dreams.

Today, I dream differently. I dream BIG. I dream MIGHTY. I know that what I dream is what I will get. Through education, I am now better aware of what I want in my life. 5 years, 10 years, 20 years down the road, I dream of a different me. I dream of different things that I can be doing that will be different from today. I Dare To Dream!

What about you? Have your dreams come true? If you have had a life as I had, or if you are thinking like the man in the picture, I urge you to start changing your dream. Dare to dream differently even if it seems unreal at first. Think of what you want to achieve in your life and start thinking that you can, because you deserve to live your life as it should. And once you start changing your dreams, I can assure you that things will happen for you, as it has and will happen to me.

I discovered through a series of book reading and seminars I attended that one of the reasons why I am what I am now is because of the lack of the mindset to succeed in what I want to do. And I have reasons to believe that it has to do with my education from young. Since young, we were taught that we need to study hard in order to go into a good school, get a good degree and end up with a good job. Well, I didn’t study too hard, but I still manage to squeeze myself a degree. However, I am still where I am today because I did not develop for myself the right mindset to my life. I studied for the sake of studying, worked for the sake of working, and lived for the sake of living. Today, I came to realize that life did not have to turn out this way, and I can change it the way I want to live it. Lucky for me, I still have time to start changing.

While my success may come late (future), I am now giving my own child a head start. Realizing the importance of setting the right mindset for my daughter, Jade, my wife and I are beginning to expose her to positive things on every opportunity. We bought audio CDs that talk about the right attitudes, we brought her along when we attend high energy seminars and trainings, and we constantly instill the right thinking pattern to her.

Of course, there are instances where a small child like her makes mistakes. While I grew up getting reprimanded for mistakes, we now try to educate her in a different manner. Instead of scolding her, we will ask her what went wrong, what she have learned from the mistake, and how she could have avoided it or done better. I find that this is a very good way of letting her learn herself instead of me telling her what she should have done.

To me, whether my daughter can get a degree in future is of low importance. More importantly, she must grow up with a positive attitude and face all challenges the right way. With the right mindset towards life, I believe that she will achieve great things in her life, and we will be proud that apart from our love, we have given her the best gift in the world – Positive Education.

With that, I invite you to visit her blog as http://jade-lee.blogspot.com for me to share my love for her, with you.

Yesterday I received the best letter I ever received from my company. It is an annual increment letter. No, this is not the first letter I have received. Neither was it the biggest increment I ever had. In fact, the increment that I received could not beat the current inflation. Still, this is the best letter that I ever received. Here’s why…

I have been with this company for more than 12 years. 13 at the end of this year. My path for the first 8 years was fruitful. As with many other companies, you put in your hard work, you get recognized, you get promoted, you become a supervisor and you begin to manage people. You feel a sense of satisfaction, job accomplishment. That was me, at least for the first 8 years of my life here.

Then things start to change…

Suddenly, I felt lost. I did not know where I was heading. The path seems ‘fixed’. I needed to explore. So I asked for a transfer. I tried other roles in my company to find where I can belong. I wanted to find my passion and continue to contribute to this company that ‘brought me up. Yesterday, when I received my letter, I then realized one thing… I simply cannot find the passion I long to have here.

What happened?

I believe my increment tells me one thing – that my performance is not ‘good’ in the company’s record. I admit it is my fault, and I have nothing against anyone. I wouldn’t even call it my fault. I’d just say that I have truly discovered that I have since a long time ago taken this to be a job and nothing else. I am very happy today that I have received this letter because it kind of asked me what am I still doing here when there is no passion for the work here. Please do not be mistaken that this is denial. It is simply a choice that I made. I choose to think that this happened for the best, my best.

I have made a decision.

Yesterday, I made a decision. The decision is to truly find my passion. My decision is to find ways of making money that I am passionate about and that I will leave this company by mid 2011. I am committed to make this happen. This decision is made not because I am upset or disappointed. This decision is made because I want to live my life as I should, as I can. And I want to be happy because I know that the decision I make today is what moulds my life in 5 to 10 years.

I am glad that I received the best letter from my company in 12 years.

Yesterday I attended a very powerful lesson by a millionaire called Lilian Ong. No she is not a well-known millionaire but nonetheless, she has inspired many of us in the class and I sure have learnt a great deal from her. And I have Adam Khoo to thank for.

Why has this got to do with Adam Khoo?

Well, if I were to attend Ms Lilian Ong’s lesson years ago, I can honestly tell you that no matter how powerful and informative her lesson was, I will not accept what she said. I was skeptical. I was negative. When people showed me opportunities, I saw them as scam. When people showed me potential for growth, I saw potential for loss. I only saw risks.

Today, I see things differently. I see possibilities, I see potential, I see opportunities, I see new beginnings. When Lilian shared a business plan, it is a business opportunity. When Lilian shared a mindset, it is a new shift. When Lilian shared a method, it is a new technique that I learned. All thanks to Adam Khoo.

Who is Adam Khoo?

Adam Khoo is an entrepreneur, a best-selling author and a peak performance trainer. He is a self-made millionaire by the age of 26, and he is the Executive Chairman and Chief Master Trainer of Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group Pte Ltd and a director of seven other private companies.

Over the last 15 years, he has trained over 350,000 students, teachers, professionals, executives and business owners to tap their personal power and achieve excellence in their various fields of endeavor.

Who is Adam Khoo according to me?

Adam is my mentor. When I first attended his Patterns of Excellence training, I kept wondering why would this person have so much energy in him? His lessons were motivating, engaging and simply mindblowing. I believe that I not only speak for myself but for my fellow POE graduates. Adam changed my life. From that point onwards, I have changed from an aimless person living day to day to a self motivated person always hungry for changes and challenges. Adam is also my motivation. If you know Adam’s background, he was an underachiever. But his life turned around when he started realizing that every man has potential to do great things and that was the defining moment for him. For me, he was the man that made me realize that I too can achieve more than what I am doing now. This one awareness that I have learned from this great man is more important than any lessons that I have learned in my life before.

I Want To Thank Adam Khoo

In conclusion, I want to thank Adam Khoo for giving me a new life. He has set the platform for me to begin exploring what life has in store for me. Through Adam, I know that I can achieve success for myself in time to come as long as I stick to what I believe in. Life has never been the same for me and will never be.

THANK YOU ADAM KHOO!

P.S. By the way, I am going to bring a friend to his Patterns of Excellence preview workshop. I am excited about it as I can once again see this motivating speaker and mentor.

I have finally bought myself an Apple MacBook Pro 13 2.66GHz Processor. Have been spending too much time thinking of whether I should get one as it is considered costly for me. Nevertheless, I evaluated that over long term, it will do good for me as I can really utilize it especially for graphics.

Here is how I intend to make use of my new MacBook Pro.

1) Install and use Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended and Adobe Illustrator CS5.

I have yet to learn Illustrator but will be enrolling for a course soon. I intend to use these two for graphics of course, as I have already learned some basic stuff about Photoshop and am excited about putting it to good use.

Promotion: – > Get 30% off Lightroom 3 when purchased with Photoshop CS5 software or you may Try Creative Suite 5 Free!

2) Install Camtasia and learn more about video marketing.

Have always been fascinated about Video Marketing. One of the reasons for holding me back is I always hoped to have a better notebook before I can start to embark on my video marketing journey.

Having my very first MacBook Pro is like a dream come true. I am excited at the possibilities it can bring to me. I have read many reviews on the Internet although most reviews favor the 15 inch MacBook Pro, I still prefer the 13 inch one for its portability. It is still slightly heavy though but for its slickness, I am willing to compromise. Having said so, I think I do need some time to learn how to use a MacBook since this is the first ever Mac product I own (apart from an iphone).

One of the many reasons people fail is the lack of persistence. If you have read my article earlier on Ezines Rejected My Articles, do note that my articles with them is resubmitted, and rejected again. This time, I did not follow a different editorial guideline.

I was also rejected with my submission of this blog to Blogcatalog.com. This is the list of possible reasons they replied me for the decline:

- We could not verify ownership of your blog.
- A link back, widget or meta-tag is required to verify site ownership.
- The URL you submitted is not a blog.
- The URL you submitted is solely for commercial purposes, or is suspected to be spam.
- Your blog is brand new and/or doesn’t have enough content to make it truly valuable. If this is the case, please resubmit after you have made more postings.
- Your blog contains pornographic material.
- At the time of review your blog was unavailable or there was a typo in your submission URL. Please make sure the URL submitted is correct and accessible

Hence, I began to wonder and started to amend my blog over the past week to meet their guidelines. I resubmitted at least three times and still, I received a Submission Declined answer.

Some people may at this point forgo submission of both the articles to Ezine and blog to Blogcatalog. Not me. I decided that persistence is the only way I can achieve success over the long run. Hence, I changed my strategies. For my articles, I began submitting them to other article directories that I have previously mentioned. All of them were accepted, some almost immediately. As for EzineArticles, no I have not given up on them. I continued to follow their strict guidelines and changed my submission. I have not received any update from them yet but the good thing is, they have a very good support team that never fails to explain the reasons behind their rejection.

As for Blogcatalog, instead of changing my blog again, I sent them an email to check what is wrong with my blog that resulted in the decline. After a day, their support replied that my blog is approved.

I have learned valuable lessons from this. If I had not persisted, I would not have got my blog approved at Blogcatalog. If I have not persisted, I may have not even have a chance of getting my articles approved on EzineArticles.com. Even though I am still waiting for approval, I have strong believe that this time it will be approved. I have also learned that I should have read the editorial guidelines carefully before making the mistakes. It could have saved me time on the amendments and resubmissions.

Persistence is one of the critical factors for success. And my believe for persistence is even stronger than ever before. I hope that you persist in what you do too, and may you success follow.

Recently I keep hearing people around me complaining about work. I can fully understand… Given the pressure and the lack of direction in my office, I can understand that people want OUT! I too feel the pressure and lack of direction. But as I sat through and think about how unmotivated I am here, I also think of how I can change my mindset so that it is more empowering rather than discouraging.

I too do not wish to work, but what I am looking for is to have the ability to achieve financial independence through passive and residual income. And my goal for retirement (regardless of age) is to do what I love because if I can do what I love doing, be it a job or not, it is not work. This is what many people want to achieve but how many can really live such a dream? I do not know. What I do know is this is what I am working for. I am going to build my pipleline so that water runs for me not now, but in the future.

So instead of saying ‘How I Wish I Don’t Have To Work’ I will say ‘How Can I Spend More Time To Be With The Ones I Love And Do What I Love’.

The latter is definitely more empowering and propels me to put in more effort now and to enjoy my rewards later.

I would like to introduce you to this book that I am reading. It is The Parable of the Pipeline by Burke Hedges. It is not a new book. I picked it up late… but better late than never. Anyway, this book explains the concept of leverage in very simple terms and if you embrace the concept with an open mind, it will open up the doors of possibilities for yourself.

Here is a review from Amazon.com

By Scott McKenzie (Louisville, CO United States)

The Parable of the Pipeline: How Anyone Can Build a Pipeline of Ongoing Residual Income in the New Economy (Paperback)

The parable in this book is an eye opener. The story is well done and interesting. The story was helpful in opening my eyes to the work mindset which had been ingrained into me since a child. Learning about building pipelines, which is residual income, was excellent. I highly recommend this book personally and for business building.

The problem for many people is that we are trained to work a job and have not learned how to own a business. This book teaches principles on business ownership. The story is told in such a way to help us shift from working our whole life and having little in the end, or becoming a business owner and getting financial freedom. This book goes along well with Rich Dad Poor Dad and Cash Flow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki – cheers

So, if you are interested to check out Burke Hedges’ The Parable of the Pipeline, you may purchase a copy from Amazon here!

My family and I watched Toy Story 3 yesterday and I sure did enjoy the long awaited movie.

In Toy Story 3, Andy is all grown up and ready to head for college. This means that he has to leave his toys behind for a fresh new start. While Andy’s intention was never to forsake his favourite toys, things did not turn out as it was meant to be.

Thus, new ‘toy’ characters are introduced and it became a whole new adventure once again for the toys.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=667JC_jg3EA&feature=channel

My daughter loved the movie even though she is only a 4 year old. I liked the movie too. Like I said, there is a whole new adventure, new toys, and still, there is a very personal touch especially at the end of the movie where Andy had to part with his toys.

If you have watched Toy Story 1 and 2 and have been waiting for Toy Story 3 like me, you will not be disappointed.
