5 Lessons I Learned From Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow 101 Game

Jack HM WongI am so excited to share this. I have just played my first ever Cashflow 101 game, with the help of my ex POE (Patterns of Excellence) coach Jack HM Wong from crackingentrepreneurcode.com.

I have been hearing of this game for a while and always wanted to play it. Although there were groups who organised this game in the past, I have never thought of joining one. However, when I published my post 2016 Global Financial Crisis – Prediction By Robert Kiyosaki on 23 Jan 2016, I was reminded of this game again.

Hence, I went online and bought it from eBay. I bought both Cashflow 101 and 202. I ordered it on 20 Feb and waited patiently and excitedly for it to arrive. I did not tell my wife I bought it online.

Coincidentally though, my wife sent this picture message to me on 21 Feb night.

Our friend, Jack Wong, was conducting his first ever Cashflow Game event and he blasted an invitation on Facebook. I registered immediately as I was really keen to learn how this game works.

The next morning, at around 10am, I received my order. Yes, my order had arrived. Not knowing what to do with it, and since I will be learning how to play it first from Jack, I put it aside. I attended the event in the evening.

First of all, I must thank Jack for hosting the event. The turnout for the event was awesome as majority of the participants (or gamers) not only showed up, we totally enjoyed the game. The objective as clear and there was ample time for lesson sharing and learnings from the coaches. Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention Jack has an incredible facilitator Kahar Saidun who not only facilitated us through the game but also shared valuable lessons with us. The only shortfall in my experience was that it only lasted for less than an hour, and ended just when I got out of the rat race. I believe the experience in the fast track will be very different.

By the way, Jack is looking for people who are keen in playing the game. If you are interested, you may contact me by filling up this contact form and I will notify you when he is organising the game again. I believe that he is going to host the event once a month.

Anyway, the lessons I have learned from my first ever experience with Cashflow 101. I was given the role of the Janitor in the game.

5 Lessons I Learned From Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow 101 Game

  1. To get out of the rat race, you need to accumulate enough Passive Income. This was very clear as it is the objective of the game.
  2. It does not matter what your profession is. Everyone can get out of the rat race.
  3. To get out of the rat race, you have to be clear of the objective of the game. I have observed players having earned $0 passive income at the time the game stopped. This is because they have been focused on getting their paycheck (salary) or capital gains.
  4. You have to take on the ‘right’ deals or opportunity. Not every deal is a good deal. Some deals take huge cash from you but does not give you good cashflow.
  5. The power of leverage is good… and bad. Leverage is a good tool but over leveraging or leveraging when you are not clear if its returns are positive is dangerous.

These are some of the lessons that I have taken back on this one evening. Jack has mentioned that every time you play you will learn different things, and the game is not just a game. It is a means of observing how you behave with regard to managing finances.

I am glad I have bought the game and am already beginning to learn how to play and facilitate the game. If you are my personal friend and are keen to have a game of Cashflow 101 together, feel free to drop me a message. Otherwise, if you are keen to have a game with me, do feel free to contact me too. I will either notify you when Jack hosts another session or when I am ready to start my own game. Meanwhile, I will be calling some of my friends up to have fun with this financial game soon.

What about Cashflow 202? Well, that is another story for another time…
